My brother Scott, his wife Maggie and their daughter Marli and son Brixton.  Our primary reasons for making the trip to China.
As Rachel said to me privately during the trip: "It's so great to see them, China is just a really nice bonus."

A 400-year old house in Xian--really cool place

 
In that old house they had shadow puppet shows and folk operas (puppets).  Really fun.


We enjoyed all the exotic foods, including this dragon fruit.


And of course, what Xi'an is maybe most famous for, the terra cotta army buried by the first emperor of unified China

 


It is a bit difficult to communicate in pictures the detail and scope of this army

 
And then sometimes each figure seemed so personal
