I went to Greece in July for an
international psychology conference. On the way to the island where the
conference was held,
I went to Athens and the Acropolis. Below are pictures from the Acropolis
and from Spetses Island.
A view from the Acropolis
Me in front of the more-than-famous Parthenon
This is the temple on the north side of the Acropolis
When my father went to Greece, he saw this statue and thought that it looked
like me.
It is really of Alexander the Great, I think, but now we can rename it:
Matthew, the Fairly Eminent
More busts and statues from the Acropolis museum
There were a bunch of places with spare parts, these are some of the best
These are the original friezes from the front of the Parthenon

This is a panorama looking across at a nearby hill. I took the distant
pictures of the Acropolis from the top of this hill
The view of the Acropolis in the evening. On the left is Hadrian's or
someone elses library.
When I came back through Athens, I was near the Acropolis at night. They
have it lit up very beautifully
The flag of Greece from the top of the Acropolis
The conference I went to was on the Island of Spetses. This is one of the
bays on the small island

One of the places I spent much of my time--Aghia beach on Spetses
And yes, I did attend the conference. Here is the farewell dinner.
The people at my table were from Greece, Japan, Croatia, Australia, and France
