Our first night (we arrived at about midnight) in Casablanca in a hotel with
this view.
We spent little time there except to rent a car and head to Rabat that
afternoon.
In Rabat we stayed at a hotel in the medina (town from the mediaeval era).
Interesting color scheme,
but it was nice and cheerful. Only a squat pot and no shower--the shape of
things to come! The medina
in Rabat is nice and clean and not as crazy as some of the other cities.
This is in that same hotel at night. I just opened up the lens for a while
and the clouds whisked by.
Looking out over the ocean in Rabat from the small Oudaias Kasbah.
This little kasbah was so beautiful and colorful. The walls were blue and
white and doorways of different colors.
Moroccans have a thing for colors. It is refreshing after the largely
brown, tan, brownish, and tannish colors of Egypt.

Driving from Rabat toward Fes. Beautiful landscapes and farms and a small
mountain town, Moulay Idriss (R).
The girls playing Roman statues at Volubilis, a city of ruins near Moulay Idriss.
It is in a beautiful setting in the countryside.
India with Mom and Dad at Volubilis. On the left you can see a stork nest,
one of two on top of the columns at Volubilis.
The girls loved climbing around on the ruins of Volubilis. It was a nice
break from being in the the car
and living in Cairo. We left this place happy to be in Morocco.
