The mighty Sahara: The wind had begun as we were riding the camels to
our camp, throwing the sand up over the dune edge.
Here we go, off into the desert
Rachel & India watching the sunset and Eden and Asia stopping to rest after
running around on the dunes
Contemplating sand, sand, sand
More playing on the sand dunes at sunset. The girls saw the Sahara as a
grand sandbox.
This was our camel man Najii. He was a gentle and nice man, loved the
girls. He is showing
us some of his fossils. In the camp, he brought our food, set up our tent,
and told us that
the many scarabs inhabiting our tent can be friends, too.
The next morning, India and I went out to watch the sun rise and play in the
sand.
On the right, Eden and I climbed the dunes and ran, slid, and rolled down.
The colors really looked like this, absolutely amazing.
The girls played in the sand in the morning--in their pajamas! Of course,
they were overjoyed.
Getting ready to go in the morning on the long camel ride...
Morocco has incredible fossils. These are some still in the rock.
These are some of the fossils we got, including trilobytes, teeth, amber,
shells, and ammonites.
Also found an asteroid. Cool rocks.
