September has been an eventful month, beginning with Eden's 7th birthday

With friends and a Bugs Bunny cake

We took a short hike in the Tetons a week ago. Really beautiful.

Asia and Eden each brought a friend with them

We went down by the stream where I double-dog dared Eden to cross over the
rocks. She and Asia made it fine
but Asia's friend fell in -- THREE TIMES. It was hard not to laugh but she
was a good sport about it.

Rachel's sister Alyssa got married last week, too.

Eden was the flower girl.
Eden & Asia also ran in a race yesterday, one mile. Eden was second among
all the girls younger than 12.
Asia did well but didn't pace herself as well as Eden did. They decided on
their own that they wanted to do this
and Eden even paid her entrance fee with her birthday money.
India and Samara had fun jumping in the puddles from the rainstorm. It is
the first rain we have had in a couple of months
and it smelled wonderful. India said, at the race, "The air smells so good
that I want to cook it up and eat an air dinner."

We had two caterpillars who made chrysalises and hatched. The girls let
them go when their wings were strong enough.
And...it was free kids day at Bear World so we took the girls a couple of
friends to Yellowstone Bear World.
We saw over 40 bears, including these two grizzly bears
There was a petting zoo where they got to feed some mule deer and a big pot
bellied pig
And there was a gigantic moose there
They also had fun rides and since it had been raining the girls just went from
ride to ride and had a blast.
And they held a free drawing for someone to feed a baby bear. We won the
drawing and Eden got to feed the baby bears with a bottle.
This was really Eden's day (month?) because not only did she get to feed the
baby bears, but she also won a new I-Pod
in the raffle drawing at the running race. She decided it was one of the
best days yet.
