SAMARA MATHEA WHOOLERY

BORN AT HOME ON FEBRUARY 19TH AT 3:15 PM IN CAIRO, EGYPT

SHE WEIGHED ABOUT 7 LBS AND 15 OZ (3.6 KILOS)

Here she is at about 2 hours old.  Samara surprised us in coming very quickly.  She was born at our home in Maadi
under water in the bath tub.  We had planned on having her at the local clinic, but did not have time to get there.
Rachel has had contractions off and on for the last month, but by the time active labor started, we had less
than an hour before Samara arrived.  Rachel did an amazing job and both baby and mother are doing well.

An amazing mother with her new little package.  If you saw Rachel in a movie right after giving birth,
you would say, "Oh, right, SURE she just gave birth.  That is so unrealistic."

She has been sleeping a lot, of course, and is very peaceful

 
We had no way to officially weigh Samara on a sensitive scale...So we took her to Seoudi's market around the corner
and weighed her on the scale.  We got a printout sticker for her!

 
And Samara's instant fan club, the guys from Seoudi's market (L) and her scan tag (R, had to subtract her clothes and diaper -.180 kilo)
